Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled freelance automation engineer or robotics specialist to develop an innovative automated processing system, initially focused on tender coconuts, with scalability to broader F&V and FMCG applications. This includes designing smart mechanisms for assessing quality, positioning, and executing precision cuts or processing steps using cutting-edge technology.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design and develop a reliable automated system for fresh produce items.
• Research and select optimal scanning and sensing technologies for internal content evaluation
• Apply AI/ML algorithms for shape, size, and content analysis across various produce types.
• Integrate image processing or sensor-based tools for alignment, firmness detection, and positioning.
• Develop precision mechanisms (cutting, slicing, or other) for safe and efficient handling of organic products.
• Build prototypes, test performance, and iterate for reliability and scalability.
• Document all technical specifications, workflows, and design protocols.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
• Proven experience in automation, robotics, or mechatronic systems.
• Proficiency in Python, C++, or other automation-friendly programming languages.
• Familiarity with computer vision, sensor fusion, or real-time image analysis.
• Hands-on experience with electromechanical prototyping and control systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Knowledge of AI-enhanced optimization for real-world object handling.
