Simple Roblox Horror Game

Job ID: 39831113

Budget: $30 – $250 USD

I need a compact, replay-friendly horror experience built in Roblox Studio, centred on a derelict mental asylum. The scope is intentionally small—one stage that a player can clear in a few minutes—yet it must be unsettling enough to keep them coming back for repeat runs.

Core atmosphere
The map should feel claustrophobic and decayed, with flickering lights, peeling paint and moody, volumetric fog. Hallways connect to just a handful of rooms so players never get lost, but the layout should still let you plant tight corners for quick scares.

Jumpscares to implement
• Sudden appearance of monsters (model and simple AI path-finding)
• Creepy sound effects that trigger contextually as the player approaches hot-spots
• Objects moving on their own—chairs sliding, doors slamming, lights swinging

Player interaction
Progress hinges on solving a short sequence of puzzles—think pin-code locks, fuse replacement, or symbol matching—rather than combat. Completing the puzzle chain opens the final exit door and finishes the run.

Deliverable checklist
• Fully playable Roblox place with one polished stage
• 3+ unique jumpscare events using the elements above
• At least one self-contained puzzle loop gating progression
• Simple UI for “Play Again” / “Exit” and a run time tracker
• All Lua scripts, assets, and instructions packaged so I can update the game myself later

If you thrive on atmospheric level design and know your way around Roblox scripting, this should be a quick yet satisfying build. I’ll be testing the game on both desktop and mobile, so please keep performance in mind.
