HSSE Management Inspections

● Plan the inspection by coordinating inspection scope with the project manager and the HS Specialist .
● As part of the inspection process, review risk assessments, HSSE procedures, and the previous performance of the site (incident investigations and other reports, past inspections and records of training) and offer advice to field teams to ensure that good practices are upheld;
● Based on the site inspection, evaluate HSSE practices and procedures at the selected premises and construction sites in the country to assess risk and adherence to HSSE requirements;
● Follow up on actions to address non-conformities or issues raised in past inspections to ensure that the issues have been effectively addressed and lessons learned shared;
● Conduct a thorough walkthrough and check ALL the areas in the workplace or construction site for both the immediate hazards and risks and those that may be less obvious such as exposure to chemicals
● Interview shop floor workers, supervisors and site managers to ensure that equipment, procedures, practices, competencies and behaviors are aligned on safe work
● Find out about incidents that have not been reported to UNOPS (check site records and speak with workers to find out about incidents that occurred), challenges that the construction teams are facing, and possible solutions that the teams believe would help them to meet HSSE requirements and industrial good practices
● Suggest actions to improve the effectiveness of health and safety critical controls in the selected sites;
● Include all the findings and suggestions/recommendations in the report submitted .
