Simple building ASCE 7-16 structural design analysis

Job ID: 40474521

Budget: $30 – $250 USD

I have completed a first pass at the wind- and seismic-load calculations for a single-story, 13 × 15 m reinforced-concrete building with a hip roof, V = 65 m/s, Exposure C, Risk Category III. All work is being modeled in LIRA-SAPR, yet I want a second set of eyes—preferably someone fluent in ASCE 7-16—to be certain the numbers and load combinations are rock-solid.

Right now, I am not even sure whether my wind calculations follow the simplified or the directional procedure, so the very first task will be confirming the correct approach and its applicability. From there, I’d like you to check every wind and seismic parameter, verify or correct the governing load combinations, and explain any adjustments in plain language that I can forward to the owner.

Please send back:

• A commented markup or calculation sheet highlighting all items you reviewed
• Revised wind and seismic calculations where changes are needed
• A concise set of recommended load combinations ready for design input
• Clarification notes that walk me through your logic, showing ASCE 7-16 clause references

I use LIRA-SAPR but have no problem translating your work if you prefer Robot, ETABS, or SAP2000. Prior U.S. code-based concrete or tilt-up experience will be a huge plus, as I want the review to stand up to a stateside peer check.

If this sounds like your wheelhouse, let’s make sure this little building meets the big code expectations.
