Senior Researcher on U.S. Political Economy and Global Strategy
Budget: $750 – $1,500 USD
Core Responsibilities:
- Monitor U.S. federal and state-level political cycles, core policy reforms, and bipartisan polarization trends; quantify their impacts on industrial investment, supply chain layouts (e.g., semiconductors, new energy), and regional economic divergence; identify transmission paths of key variables to the market.
- Study interstate collaboration mechanisms and policy implementation disparities; assess interstate governance conflicts and synergistic opportunities.
- Focus on swing states and economic hubs; analyze the investment orientation driven by federal-state power dynamics and local industrial policy support (e.g., CHIPS Act, EV subsidies).
- Integrate political stability, debt sustainability, and social division to publish a quarterly U.S. Political Economy Risk Report, identifying high-risk areas.
- Track U.S. global strategic competition: evaluate the impact of the CHIPS Act and Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) on global industrial chain restructuring; predict U.S. military and diplomatic adjustments in the Indo-Pacific and Europe.
- Analyze U.S. strategic shifts in the UN, WTO, and G7 (e.g., climate stance, unilateral formulation of technical standards); assess the effectiveness of "issue-based alliances" (e.g., counterterrorism, chip controls) in reshaping global rules.
- Evaluate U.S. preemptive interventions in transnational crimes and public health crises; analyze their ripple effects on Latin America and the Middle East.
- Design U.S. market entry strategies for international clients (energy/tech/infrastructure/agriculture): identify high-growth states (EV industry chains, semiconductor clusters) and risk-averse regions; customize ESG compliance pathways aligned with state-level policies.
- Provide contingency plans for local operational crises; develop lobbying strategies with state governments, industry associations (chambers of commerce, manufacturing alliances), and NGOs (environmental/civil rights) to advocate for integrating client interests into local agendas.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree or above in International Relations, Political Science, American Studies, Public Policy, or related fields.
- Over 3 years of experience in U.S. political/economic policy analysis (preferably with think tanks, investment banks, or government affairs departments of multinational corporations); must have project experience with a dual "domestic-global" perspective.
- In-depth mastery of: U.S. federal system operations, bipartisan ideological differences, Electoral College system, boundaries of state powers, U.S. foreign policy decision-making mechanisms, and great-power competition analytical frameworks.
- Independently author in-depth reports in both Chinese and English (including quantitative models and scenario simulations); utilize tools such as GPR/Geopolitical Risk Index to support investment decisions.
- Build a knowledge barrier in policy expertise to serve high-net-worth clients (private equity, energy giants, multinational manufacturers); design resilient solutions through strategic simulations.
