Medical Device Chemistry Support
Budget: ₹12,500 – ₹37,500 INR
I’m looking for a chemist who can take the lead on formulation adjustments for a new set of histopathology-related reagents that will be used in our medical-device line. The core of the assignment is to fine-tune the current formulation, run stability tests to confirm performance.
Freelance Formulation Chemist – ISTOS Medical (Histopathology Reagents)
Project Scope
Support chemical formulation, reagent preparation, and quality validation for histopathology and medical device applications.
Responsibilities
Develop and prepare chemical formulations for histopathology reagents (stains, buffers, fixatives, mounting media).
Conduct reagent preparation and testing in line with ISO/GMP standards.
Perform analytical validation of reagents (quality control, reproducibility, stability testing).
Assist in R&D for new histology stains, decalcifying solutions, and special reagents (PAS, Masson’s Trichrome, etc.).
Document processes and results with detailed reagent preparation logs and compliance reports.
Collaborate with pathology labs to standardize reagents for diagnostic use.
Ensure safety and compliance with chemical handling protocols.
Support industrial-scale production of laboratory chemicals when required.
Provide consultancy on reagent optimization for medical device applications.
Deliverables: Testing reports, formulation protocols, QC validation documents.
Requirements
Diploma/Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Pharmaceutical Sciences.
Experience in reagent manufacturing companies or pathology labs.
Knowledge of histopathology reagents (H&E stains, PAS, fixatives, mounting media).
Familiarity with ISO 13485, GMP, and medical device compliance.
Strong analytical and documentation skills.
NDA and confidentiality compliance required.
Contract Terms
Duration: 3–6 months (extendable).
Payment: Milestone-based (linked to reagent development, QC validation, and documentation).
Location: Remote possible, Bengaluru-based preferred for lab access.
If you have a diploma or degree in Chemistry or Pharmaceutical Sciences, hands-on lab experience, and can navigate medical-device regulations with confidence, I’d be happy to discuss next steps and project duration.
