Rhino 8 Layer Nesting & Spacing Optimization

Rhino 8 – Layer Nesting / Clearance Task
I have a Rhino 8 file with multiple layers containing 3D objects that are currently stacked in Z-direction but visually represent a 2D composition (Top view).
I need help restructuring the geometry so that all layers can be placed on the same plane, while maintaining proper spacing between all elements.
Goal:
All layers (except “bakplate”) must end up on the same plane (2D layout).
Objects must not overlap.
A clearance of 2 mm is required between all objects.
Process required:
Geometry from upper layers must be “nested” into the layers below.
Example:
Objects from Layer 07 should be projected onto the same plane as Layer 06.
Wherever Layer 07 overlaps Layer 06, the geometry in Layer 06 must be cut away.
A 2 mm offset clearance must be applied so objects do not touch.
This process must be repeated sequentially:
Layer 07 → Layer 06
Layer 06 → Layer 05
Layer 05 → Layer 04
… continuing down through all layers
Final result includes layers down to “fliser”
Important:
Original shapes must be preserved (no distortion)
Only subtraction/offset operations should be used
All objects must remain separate (no merging)
Final layout must be clean, non-overlapping, and suitable for fabrication (laser/CNC)
Special case:
The layer named “bakplate” must remain unchanged
All final geometry should be positioned on top of this layer
Deliverable:
Clean Rhino file with:
All geometry flattened to one plane
Proper 2 mm clearance between all elements
Organized layers

A brief explanation of the workflow used
