Wooden Porch Structural Engineering Plans

Job ID: 39840985

Budget: $30 – $250 USD

The existing wooden porch with a roof on my property has reached the end of its life and, at over 300 sq ft, it now needs a complete replacement. I’m after a full set of engineered drawings and structural calculations that I can submit directly to my local building department for permit approval.

Scope
• The new porch will remain a wooden structure, but I want it upgraded for current code compliance and longevity.
• Decorative columns must be integrated into the design; everything from load paths to connection details should account for them.
• Wind, snow, and live-load requirements for my region have to be reflected in the plans.

Deliverables
1. Signed/sealed structural drawings (PDF and DWG) detailing framing layout, footing sizes, beam and joist schedules, hardware specifications, and column details.
2. Complete structural calculations package.
3. A brief material list with lumber grades and metal connectors called out.
4. One revision round after plan-check comments, if needed.

I expect the final files to be produced in AutoCAD or Revit and calculations done with your preferred structural analysis software. Please factor local building code references into the documentation and indicate where any assumptions are made.

If you’re comfortable engineering large timber porches and can turn around clear, permit-ready documents, I’d love to review your past samples and timeline.
