San Jose Extension Design & Permits
Budget: $1,500 – $3,000 USD
I’m adding a single-story extension to my home in San Jose to gain more general living space. I need a designer who can turn my rough concept into a full, permit-ready drawing set and help shepherd it through the City of San Jose review cycle.
This needs planner who has California license.
Scope of work
• Create measured floor plans, elevations, roof and foundation plans, sections, and a site plan that meet current California Building Code and San Jose municipal requirements.
• Dimension everything clearly so a contractor can price and build directly from the sheets.
• Include structural drawings/engineering
• Include Title 24 energy compliance report
• Package the documents in AutoCAD or Revit plus PDF, ready for electronic submittal.
• Respond to any city plan-check comments until the permit is issued.
Acceptance criteria
1. Drawing set stamped “approved” by the City of San Jose.
2. Digital files (DWG/RVT and PDF) delivered to me.
Responsiveness, transparent communication, and a reasonable fee structure are important to me. If you’ve recently pushed projects through San Jose Planning/Building and can show examples, let’s talk.
