Revit MEP Expert for BIM Academic Task
Budget: $10 – $30 USD
Seeking Freelance BIM Modeler with Revit MEP Expertise for Academic Project
Project Description:
I am looking for a professional or advanced student with demonstrable mastery of Autodesk Revit, specializing in MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) installations. The objective is to complete an academic assignment that involves continuing an existing BIM model to develop its complete HVAC, domestic water, gas, and electrical installations. The work is based on the specific instructions from two activities (Activity 1 and Activity 2) and their corresponding study materials. The base .rvt file will be provided to continue the work.
Required Skills:
The ideal candidate must have advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit and proven experience in MEP modeling (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing/Sanitary). This includes a deep understanding of the Revit System Browser and the ability to create, duplicate, and configure pipe and duct systems. Experience in creating electrical circuits for both power and lighting is essential. The freelancer must have strong attention to detail and the ability to follow precise academic instructions.
Specific Scope of Work:
The freelancer will be responsible for completing the following tasks, divided into two main activities:
Activity 1: HVAC and Domestic Water Modeling
This activity requires the freelancer to configure the work environment by activating the "System Browser." For the HVAC system, you will create a custom duct system type by duplicating an existing one, lay out the ventilation ducts while adjusting parameters for width, depth, and middle elevation, and insert and connect at least two "Air Terminals," ensuring their correct elevation. You will also incorporate and connect a "Mechanical Equipment" unit (e.g., an AHU) to complete the circuit. For the Domestic Cold Water system, you will load and place plumbing fixtures (sinks, toilets, etc.), create a new pipe system named "Agua potable fría" (Domestic Cold Water), and trace the piping network (manually or using "Generate Layout") to connect all fixtures. Finally, you will verify in the System Browser that all components are correctly assigned to their respective systems.
Activity 2: Gas and Electrical Installation Modeling
This activity involves creating a custom "Gas Cocina" (Kitchen Gas) pipe system by duplicating an existing one. You will insert at least one appliance (e.g., a water heater or stove) and verify its gas connectors. You will then trace the piping system to connect the appliance, using "Generate Layout" if needed, and review the entire system in a 3D view. For the Electrical Installation, you must load and place a power panel in a logical location. Then, working in a reflected ceiling plan, you will load and place light fixtures. You will group the fixtures in a room, connect them to a switch, assign power to the system, and link it to the electrical panel. You must also model at least two electrical outlets and assign them to a separate circuit connected to the same panel. The final step is to verify in the System Browser that both the lighting and power circuits are configured correctly.
Deliverables:
The final deliverable is the completed .rvt project file, with all installations (HVAC, Domestic Water, Gas, and Electrical) modeled according to the instructions. The model must be clean, organized, and fully functional within the Revit System Browser.
How to Apply:
Interested candidates, please send a brief description of your experience in Revit MEP, examples or a portfolio of similar work (if possible), your total cost for the completed project, and your estimated delivery time.
