Residential Structural Design & Analysis
Budget: $10 – $30 USD
My residential building is still at the conceptual design stage, and it is time to set the structural strategy in place. The scope covers complete structural design and analysis—everything required to move from concept sketches to a coordinated set of preliminary structural documents.
You will analyse gravity and lateral loads, size members, and propose an economical foundation system. I will share architectural plans in DWG/PDF; you return models, calculations, and drawings that integrate seamlessly with the architect’s layout. Typical tools on past projects have included ETABS, SAP2000, STAAD Pro, Robot, Revit, or AutoCAD—use whichever you are most efficient with, provided the output is clear and editable.
Deliverables
• Framing layout drawings (PDF + DWG)
• Load-path and member-sizing calculations (clearly referenced to codes)
• Foundation concept sketches with design notes
• Brief structural design report summarising assumptions, codes, and results
Acceptance criteria
• All elements check against governing residential codes (IBC/ASCE 7 or local equivalent)
• Drawings are tidy, layered logically, and printable at A1 without scaling issues
• Calculation package is complete enough for peer review or permit pre-submission
Once these items are approved, the project can move confidently into detailed design.
