Residential Structural Corrections Needed

Job ID: 40312223

Budget: $15 – $25 USD

I’m renovating a residential property and need a qualified structural expert to identify, calculate, and document every correction required to keep the house safe and code-compliant throughout the remodeling process.

Here’s the situation: walls are coming down, new openings are going in, and I want to be certain the existing framing, load paths, and connections are up to the task before any finishes go back up. Your job is to analyse the current structure, pinpoint weaknesses created by past alterations, and supply clear, permit-ready solutions that my general contractor can implement without guesswork.

What I expect from you
• A site-specific structural assessment (digital or on-site, depending on your location)
• Engineering drawings and calcs stamped where necessary, ready for city review
• A concise report describing each recommended correction, the reasoning behind it, and any code references (IBC, local residential code) that reviewers will look for
• Ongoing clarification during plan check so revisions, if requested, are turned around quickly

Please be comfortable working with common residential materials—light wood framing, structural steel for beams/headers, and the usual array of connectors—and with tools such as AutoCAD/Revit, SAP2000, or similar analysis software.

Let me know your proposed timeline, how you handle field measurements if you’re remote, and a couple of recent residential renovation projects you’ve stamped or designed. I’m ready to begin as soon as the right engineer is onboard.
