Residential Steel Frame Shop Drawings
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I already have full architectural and structural plans for a new residential building and I now need a complete set of shop drawings that a fabricator can take straight to the workshop. Because this frame supports a home rather than a commercial or industrial space, accuracy around clear-span room layouts and integration with standard residential services is key.
Your task is to translate the information in my PDFs/DWGs into well-presented shop drawings that show every member size, cut length, orientation, and any camber or plate information called out by the engineer. Please include a member schedule and clearly reference every grid and level so the installer can follow along without jumping back to the design drawings.
Preferred file formats are PDF for issue and DWG (or IFC) for coordination. I work in AutoCAD and Revit, so maintaining layers and view naming conventions will speed up checking.
Deliverables
• Fully dimensioned plan, elevation, and section sheets for the steel frame
• Member schedule with tags that match the drawings
• Title block populated with my project information and revision table
• A single, consolidated DWG file (XREFs bound) plus print-ready PDFs
Once I receive your initial draft I will mark up any comments within two business days, and I’m aiming to sign off the final set after one revision round.
