Residential Cost Estimation & CAD
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I’m moving a residential build from concept to permit-ready documentation and I need a single professional who can handle both the numbers and the drawings. Some floor plans and elevations are already sketched, yet several rooms, structural details, and all MEP layouts still have to be fleshed out and costed.
Here’s what I will rely on you for:
• Complete, scalable CAD drawings (DWG/DXF) that meet local code and are ready for engineer and council review.
• A clear, itemised cost estimate broken down by trade and material so I can compare supplier quotes with confidence.
I work in AutoCAD and Revit, so staying in that ecosystem—or delivering fully compatible files—is important. For the estimate, a spreadsheet format that lets me track revisions works best; RSMeans or equivalent unit-rate sources are fine as long as citations are included.
Acceptance criteria
1. Updated set of architectural, structural, and MEP drawings in native CAD plus PDF.
2. Cost estimate that aligns line-by-line with the drawing schedule, showing quantities, unit rates, and totals.
3. A brief assumptions sheet explaining allowances and contingencies.
If you have a track record with residential builds and can slot smoothly into an evolving design, let’s talk time frame and milestone hand-offs.
