Rehab Centre Design Thesis
Budget: ₹1,500 – ₹12,500 INR
I am preparing my final architectural thesis around a comprehensive rehabilitation centre that combines vocational spaces, specialised therapy areas and residential facilities in one cohesive campus. The brief explores how supportive environments can accelerate recovery, so the spatial choreography and user experience matter as much as the structural logic.
I already have a few readymade plans for the residential and miscellaneous areas, they can be provided as well as other information, if need be can be altered otherwise kept the same
Scope
The thesis requires a full conceptual and schematic design package that clearly articulates: site planning, zoning of the three programme strands, circulation logic, massing studies and an architectural language that blends modern lines with contextual traditional cues. Sustainability strategies and universal-access considerations should be woven into every decision.
Preferred workflow
I usually start with quick AutoCAD or Revit block studies, move into SketchUp or Rhino for massing, then develop presentation-ready renders through Lumion or Enscape. If you have an alternative toolchain that achieves the same clarity, that is fine—what matters is a coherent set of drawings, diagrams and visuals that can stand rigorous academic scrutiny.
Deliverables (submission set)
Readymade final jury sheets with site analysis, case study, literature study etc
• Master plan and functional zoning diagrams
• Floor plans, sections and key elevations in 1:200 (or suitable) scale
• photorealistic renders illustrating the mixed modern–traditional character
• A short design narrative (≈1,000 words) explaining concept drivers, material palette and how vocational, therapy and residential zones interrelate
• Editable source files
Acceptance criteria
The design must demonstrate clear separation yet intuitive connection between vocational, therapy and living components, follow basic local accessibility codes and visibly incorporate both contemporary and traditional elements without visual conflict.
