Freelance Engineer / Drafter – Decking & Outdoor Structures (Philippines)

Job ID: 40165630

Budget: $250 – $750 AUD

About the Role

We’re streamlining our decking business and looking for freelance engineers/drafters to create clear, buildable project documentation.

This is not a construction role—your work will allow installers to execute projects without supervision, reduce errors, and standardize quality across multiple sites.

Why this role exists / Our goals

-Remove dependency on the owner as a bottleneck

-Standardize project documentation across all decking projects

-Reduce mistakes and rework during construction

-Enable multiple installers to execute projects without supervision or loss of quality

-Ensure every project can be built accurately using only your documentation

Key principle: We are not looking for “an engineer with a diploma.” We need specialists who can convert a site into a complete, buildable documentation package.

Scope of Work (per project)

-Site Plans: layout, dimensions, references, offsets

-Structural Drawings: timber (H3/H4), aluminium, concrete/steel if required; joists, beams, spacing, heights, stairs, handrails, side cladding/fascia

-Elevations & Sections: cross-sections, height levels

-Bill of Materials (BOM): full material list, quantities, dimensions, fixings (clear for ordering/assembly)

-Simple 3D Visualisation: for installer and client understanding (no high-end rendering required)

Candidate Requirements

-Experience with decking, outdoor structures, or timber framing

-Construction drawing production

-Freelance / contract-based availability

-Working English (B1+)

-Knowledge of Australian building standards (NCC, AS) or willingness to learn

-AutoCAD, SketchUp, or Revit preferred

Location: Philippines only

Shortlisted candidates may be asked to complete a small test project.

We aim to hire 2–3 freelancers to ensure consistency and avoid dependency on a single person.
