Essay on The use of computer aided design software has improved the way and manner to which the construction industry presents its architectural designs, building plans, floor plans, electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, technical drawings over the years.
You have been employed by a SME organisation in Sidcup who need upgrading their approach to digital drawings to enhance their services and be able contribute to sustainable development in their local area and beyond. To support them you have been bought in as a CAD consultant, your role is to educate them on the importance of CAD in construction and the role it plays on the scheme of sustainable development.
You will produce a report that will highlight:
• Evaluate the applicability of AutoCAD and Revit in producing various types of drawings for clients and discuss the implications of using CAD software on a stand-alone computer versus within a multi-user environment, including the benefits and challenges of each setup.
• Based on your conclusion, how this CAD software can contribute to manage Health and safety of the project
• Produce floor plans using the REVIT to enable the organisation to visualize the end results. Provide a suitable composition for the external cavity wall including External leaf composed of brick, internal leaf composed of concrete block, internal cavity made up of a 50mm air gap and 100 mm rigid insulation, internal wall finishes as plaster board plus paint.
