Draft Official Garage Plans
Budget: $200 – $325 USD
I’ve sketched out a 22’ × 30’ detached garage and now need those ideas turned into a full set of permit-ready plans. The ground floor is for parking while the second floor—reached by an interior stair—will serve as a designated workspace with climate-controlled storage. All drawings at the moment are hand-drawn, so the first step is to translate them into accurate plan views that my client can approve and tweak if needed. Once the sign off is complete, then all the final elevations and specs can be added. I already have a layout that they most onboard with to make it easy to start.
I’ll supply scanned copies of the sketches plus notes on wall heights, door and window locations, and the HVAC approach for the upstairs storage area. From you I’m looking for a coordinated package that includes floor plans, elevations, sections, foundation and framing details, and a basic electrical/lighting layout. Plans need to be clear enough for contractors to price and build from, and properly dimensioned for code review. If you’re familiar with the standard North American residential code stack and can add any required structural annotations, that’s a big plus.
Please let me know your turnaround time, the software you’ll use (AutoCAD, Revit, or similar), and whether you can accommodate one round of revisions after the initial draft.
