Draft Australian Deck Addition
Budget: $30 – $250 AUD
I’m adding a medium-sized rectangular deck (roughly 10–25 m²) to an existing dwelling and need a set of working drawings that satisfy current Australian Standards and the NCC. This package is purely for planning approval, so no structural engineering is required yet—just clear, accurate documentation that a building inspector can review.
Scope
• Amend the current building plans to show the new deck location, dimensions, and connection details.
• No footing layout as deck Canta levered. bearer/joist arrangement, and balustrade heights consistent with the standard 1 m requirement.
• Nominate materials as “TBC after engineering” so the inspector knows final selections will follow.
• Apply all relevant notes, sections, and elevations to demonstrate compliance with setback, ventilation, and waterproofing rules.
• Deliver the draft in both PDF for submission and DWG (or compatible CAD) so further edits can be made if the inspector requests tweaks.
Acceptance
The drawing set should be detailed enough for council or private certifier review, with dimensions, levels, and code references clearly annotated. If the inspector returns comments, one revision round is included to close them out.
Tools
AutoCAD, Revit, ArchiCAD, or equivalent CAD software is fine as long as I receive the native file and a print-ready PDF.
