Contemporary Dual-Unit Floor Plan
Budget: $10 – $30 USD
I need a clear, dimensioned floor plan (an unofficial blueprint I can show to my local drafter) for a single-story, contemporary home that blends my own residence with a fully self-contained rental suite under one continuous roofline.
Layout concept
• The front door opens into a shared entrance lobby.
• From that lobby, a single interior door leads into my main residence, while secure double doors lead into the rental suite.
Main residence must include
• A spacious open-concept kitchen and living room.
• Exactly two bedrooms.
• Two full baths: one off the hallway, one en-suite to the primary bedroom.
• A separate office/den (no closet).
• Laundry room, mudroom, and a walk-in closet in the primary bedroom.
Attached rental suite must include
• Studio-style living space with its own kitchenette.
• One defined bedroom zone.
• Private en-suite bathroom.
• Completely separate exterior door so tenants can come and go without passing through the shared lobby.
What I’d like back
1. A fully dimensioned floor plan in PDF.
2. Source file in AutoCAD, Revit, or similar (DWG/RVT/SKP acceptable) so my drafter can adjust wall thicknesses and local code notes.
3. Simple 3-D massing or shaded view to illustrate the single roofline would be a bonus.
Acceptance criteria
• All spaces listed above are present and properly connected.
• Circulation flows naturally from the shared lobby, with privacy maintained between units.
• Overall footprint remains on one level and reads as a contemporary build (clean lines, efficient use of space).
• Doors, window placements and basic plumbing fixtures are indicated.
