About the Opportunity
A great opportunity for a Senior Electrical Engineer to help shape the technical delivery of building services projects within a growing multidisciplinary team in Edinburgh. The office provides local support to major East Coast projects and offers exposure to a diverse workload across commercial development, science and research facilities, residential schemes and public-sector environments.
You will work closely with clients and design partners from project inception to completion, taking responsibility for electrical engineering outputs, coordination, and quality control.
Key Responsibilities
Take and develop project briefs, ensuring requirements are clearly understood and translated into engineering solutions
Deliver electrical engineering design on projects of varying scale and complexity
Produce design calculations, drawing packages, specifications and technical reports
Lead the electrical discipline on small and medium-sized projects, or contribute to major schemes as part of a wider delivery team
Coordinate with mechanical, sustainability, structural and architectural teams to achieve integrated design outcomes
Report progress, programme status and deliverables to senior staff
Communicate design information clearly and effectively to clients, colleagues and external partners
Delegate work to junior engineers and support their development by reviewing and providing feedback
Attend client meetings, design reviews, workshops and site inspections as required
What You Need
Demonstrable experience delivering electrical building services design across complex projects
Skilled user of industry design software including Revit, BIM platforms, Electrical OM, Dialux and Relux
Experience working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders
Strong communication and coordination capability in both client-facing and internal settings
Ability to manage tasks independently while maintaining attention to detail and design quality
Experience supporting the development of apprentices, graduates and less-experienced engineers
A proactive and practical mindset with a commitment to delivering high-quality engineering work
