Parametric CAD Reverse Engineering
Budget: $30 – $250 AUD
I have high-resolution STL scans and reference photos of two automotive components—a patterned speaker grille for CNC milling and a sheet-metal mounting bracket. Your task is to rebuild both parts from scratch in SolidWorks using sketches, features, and proper design intent so every dimension, fillet, pattern, and bend can be edited later. Mesh-to-STEP shortcuts or Blender workflows will not meet the brief; this must be true feature-based modelling aimed at production.
Accuracy is critical because the parts will be machined and must bolt straight into an existing vehicle. Please work to full detail, capturing every slot, clip, mounting boss, and grille perforation exactly as scanned while maintaining clean, well-named feature trees.
Deliverables
• Native SolidWorks files for each part with fully parametric, dimension-controlled geometry
• CNC-ready STEP AP214 exports
• Any auxiliary drawings or flat-patterns needed to verify fitment
When you reply, highlight your experience performing similar reverse-engineering projects for manufacture, especially where STL data was converted to feature-based CAD. I’ll share the scans once we’ve confirmed capability and timeline.
