Optimize Freescale MPC Firmware - Decompile for Modification
Budget: $1,500 – $3,000 USD
I’m working with a Freescale MPC micro-controller and only have the compiled HEX at hand. My first step is to get a clear, well-commented disassembly so I can understand exactly what TCC Logic routine is doing. From there, the end goal is to tune the existing code so the TCC Logic engages faster instead of waiting for a 3-4 second timer to expire
Here’s how I picture the workflow: you extract and label the assembly (IDA Pro, Ghidra, or your preferred tool is fine), isolate the hotspots that i can recommend where the area of attack is, then propose and implement optimizations for the Transmission Logic. There is a TCC Timer i am looking for and looking to modify.
Disassemble Freescale MPC5674F & MPC5566 hex file to assembler. IDA PRO. Need to modify code slightly and recompile. Can help Find the area of attack as i have Winols experience and have an idea where the address is in HEX
Deliverables
• Annotated disassembly with meaningful symbol names
• Brief report highlighting the sections you optimized and why
• Re-assembled, performance-tuned HEX ready for flashing
I’d like the full round—disassembly, optimization, and final HEX—wrapped up within a month. If you have previous experience with the Freescale MPC family, that will make everything move faster, but I’m open to any proven reverse-engineering workflow that gets the job done cleanly and on time.
