Sales Agent Required in Malaysia (clothing)

Job ID: 40573792

Budget: $250 – $750 USD

I am expanding a contemporary clothing label into the Malaysian market and need a local point-of-contact who can turn boutique owners into enthusiastic stockists.

The freelancer must be located in Malaysia, preferably in Kuala Lumpur, others please excuse.

Your core task is simple: walk into independent fashion boutiques, present the collection with confidence, and secure purchase orders or consignment agreements while nurturing each relationship for repeat business.

Because the role is sales-heavy, I’m specifically looking for someone who has already sold apparel on the shop floor or to store buyers and understands how inventory, margins, and visual merchandising discussions unfold. Fluent, natural communication in both Bahasa Malaysia and English is essential; you’ll be switching between languages when negotiating terms, writing follow-up emails, and sharing marketing collateral.

Day-to-day you will:
• Identify and prioritise suitable boutiques in key shopping districts.
• Arrange in-person appointments, product walk-throughs, and line-sheet presentations.
• Negotiate order quantities, pricing, and in-store display placement.
• Maintain a clear pipeline report so I can see prospect status, orders closed, and next actions.
• Gather on-the-ground feedback about sizing, styles, and local consumer preferences to inform design tweaks and future drops.

Acceptance criteria for the first eight weeks:
1. A vetted list of at least 40 target boutiques with contact details.
2. Minimum of 15 in-person pitch meetings completed.
3. At least 5 boutiques placing initial orders or consignment agreements.
4. Weekly summary report (spreadsheet or CRM export) delivered every Friday.

If you thrive on face-to-face selling, know the independent fashion scene, and can keep relationships warm long after the first sale, I’d love to hear how you can champion this brand across Malaysia’s boutique landscape.
