Write a resume and a cover letter

Im after restructuring my resume to make it simple and more job specific, ive been in the construction industry for more than 10 years, but my jobs were inconsistent so the resume is all over the place, im looking at simplify it and make it more job specific, which is site inspection and project coordination.
and i want to write a cover letter that covers the same. Thanks
