Help review & and rewrite my cover letter and resume
Budget: $30 – $250 AUD
I may have found the perfect job that I am hoping to at least get to the interview stage for, but ideally I get the job too.
The role is Operations Manager for a TECH STARTUP in an industry I am super passionate about.
While I have spent many years refining my LinkedIn profile, my resume and cover letters and have received feedback from friends and family, I’ve never had professional help and I've never really gotten much feedback from previous employers or potential new employers. I think I’ve been able to get through a few times with a passionate cover letter but I'd still like to get some critical feedback and editing help to make it better.
I would just like some professional help this time - so that my cover letter and resume are tailored for this job advertisement and the company.. and then if I don’t get this job, be able to use the work we do together to improve my resume and cover letter templates for any future jobs I apply for too!
I also think my resume is a little wordy - in my defence, I often worked 3 roles in one job and wore many hats in different departments - this ranged from the company I worked at but I've worked within marketing, operations, design, project management and customer support channels - all which are things relevant to this operations role.
The current format of my resume is a standard chronological one, but I am also looking for feedback on whether a functional resume would work better to show how I meet each specific skill?
What I would like from you, dear future helper:
- read the job advertisement I want to apply for
- review my current resume and cover letter and provide your expertise on if my current cover letter and resume match the requirements
- make edits/suggestions on how I can improve, i.e. how to make my achievements and responsibilities more pithy and succinct
- provide suggestions on if it should be a functional resume instead?
- If edits/rewrites are needed, I would like for this still be in my writing tone. I have example cover letters I can share so you can get an idea.
I am specifically looking for someone with HR, recruitment and writing experience because I want honest, critical feedback.
It would be great if you have experience in information technology and startups too.
