SDN Developer for Load Balancer Module Completion

Job ID: 39705891

Budget: €30 – €250 EUR

We're looking for an experienced SDN developer (Java + Floodlight) to help complete a software-defined networking project that involves implementing a custom load balancer module in Floodlight.

Project Overview:
We have implemented a Floodlight module that manages virtual services and load balances requests between backend servers using either N-based rotation or static mapping, configurable via REST API.

Work Completed So Far:

Custom Floodlight module is functioning

REST APIs implemented:

Add/Delete/List virtual services

Set N value

Enable Static Mapping

Dynamic backend selection (N-based) is working correctly

Static mapping mode works for initial setup

What’s Missing / Needs Fixing:

After enabling static mapping, switching back to N-based rotation doesn’t work as expected
Also, static mapping functionality must be validated.

Likely issues with switch/client ARP handling or flow cleanup

The module needs proper testing and fixes to fully support seamless toggling between dynamic and static modes

Final project report is incomplete and needs to be finalized once the module is stable

Deadline: 5 days maximum
This is a time-sensitive academic/technical project. Please apply only if you're confident in delivering within the time limit.

What We Need:

Strong experience with SDN (Mininet, OpenFlow)

Java (Floodlight controller internals)

Ability to debug flow installs and ARP resolution issues

Comfortable finalizing a professional technical report
