Node.js Developer for Telehealth Startup

Role Overview
We’re seeking a highly motivated Node.js Developer with strong backend experience. Familiarity with Medusa.js is a major plus, and exposure to frontend frameworks is a bonus (Nuxt.js and Next.js in particular, though not essential). You’ll be working in a small, agile team, helping us scale our product to thousands of users.
This role will start as part-time to support our launch, with the opportunity to grow into a full-time role as we scale.
Responsibilities
Develop, maintain, and scale backend services using Node.js (Medusa.js preferred)
Collaborate with product, design, and engineering to build robust features
Contribute to architecture, technical decisions, and best practices
Write clean, maintainable, and testable code
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues quickly
Communicate progress and blockers clearly with the team
Requirements
5+ years professional development experience (with a strong backend focus)
Strong proficiency in Node.js and modern JavaScript/TypeScript
Experience with Medusa.js (or similar headless commerce frameworks) strongly preferred
Understanding of REST and GraphQL APIs
Good database knowledge (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL)
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment
Nice to Have
Experience with Nuxt.js, Next.js, or other frontend frameworks (Vue.js, React)
Knowledge of cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or similar)
Experience in healthcare/telehealth or other regulated industries
