Digikey-Style Electronics E-Commerce Platform
Budget: $750 – $1,500 USD
I’m ready to launch an online store dedicated to electronic components and I want the shopping experience to mirror the speed, depth and usability of Digikey. The site must comfortably handle thousands of SKUs while giving engineers the granular search power they expect.
Core features I need delivered:
• Customer reviews and ratings for every part
• Robust product-to-product comparison tools
• Advanced search filters (package, tolerance, voltage, etc.) that respond instantly
• A full BOM (bill of materials) workspace so users can upload, validate and purchase entire part lists in one flow
User roles to implement from day one:
• Customers – account creation, order history, saved carts/BOMs
• Vendors – self-service catalog management, inventory and pricing updates
• Administrators – full system oversight, analytics, user & catalog control
Strong preference for a scalable stack (Laravel + Vue, Django + React, or a similarly modern pairing) with clean REST/GraphQL endpoints so we can eventually open the catalog to third-party tools. Payment gateway integration, real-time inventory syncing and GDPR-compliant data handling are expected.
I’ll supply initial part data and basic wireframes; you’ll architect the database, build the front/back end, connect payments and deploy to a cloud host of your choice. Please outline your proposed tech stack, timeline and any past work on component or B2B marketplaces when you bid.
