Deploy Server-Side Python Script
Budget: £20 – £250 GBP
• Description
We have a small Python script which needs to be put on the server-side as an API. Excluding the GUI code and comments, the script has about 750 lines.
You will be given a VPS, which the API will allow downstream applications to call the engine for data comparison. We need multiple real-time endpoints for downstream applications.
For testing purposes, we will set the maximum to 3 for now. Ultimately, it can be scaled to an unlimited number of real-time comparisons. I suppose we will have multiple copies of the comparison code on the same/different servers, but with three REST API endpoints. Hence, the Python script will be split into server and client-side code.
As there are multiple data points to be compared with, we are thinking that the web app will first initiate the REST api 1 comparison engine, send the data to your app, your app will compare for x number of minutes, e.g. 5 minutes, which your engine/API will keep telling the web app you are still checking/monitoring.
If the data differs after 15 minutes, return a “kill message” to the web app indicating that they differ, and that monitoring will stop, so the REST API 1 can be used for other comparisons. You probably want to make it simple by creating a single web page to start/stop/restart multiple engines/APIs, or to change their parameters.
Some testing scenarios include:
1. Running the web app to test the sites 24 hours for a few days to test the system stability.
2. Running the system for accuracy, knowing whether they are the same or different.
3. How can we recycle the used endpoints/server resources for further testing? The operation has to be as streamlined as possible, as this will be handed over to the ops team in the future. You will need to automate operations with no system admin logon to the server to fix/configure servers, and potentially have the operations team click a few buttons to reset/start/stop comparisons on a dashboard.
• Bidding
Your bid is my budget. If you deliberately submit a low bid to get me to speak to you, you either revise your bid, or I will ignore you.
• Delivery
We need the source code and will integrate your program into a much larger one. You will be paid once you finish all the work and it works on my machine. We will also attack your program, as it must be secure and reliable, with no loopholes. It has to be bug-free.
• Platform
Your code has to work on Windows.
• Workplace
You will be working online remotely.
• Experience
Please share your detailed work experience and portfolio. Without similar experience, you are unlikely to be awarded, as you may not finish the project anyway.
• IP
The intellectual property, including the source code, belongs to Sors Markets Ltd.
• Interview
We may interview you to see if you can work on the project.
• Demo
We will need to do a demo on Freelancer. If you have any questions, please send us a message.
• Further work
More work may need to be awarded to the winner.
