Cézanne Archive Retrieval
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I'm seeking a researcher in Paris France to physically go into the National Museum Archives and look through boxes and obtain the registered file for a painting by the Artist Paul Cézanne.
The researcher will be provided with the batch of reference numbers. The registered file being sought is the file that Paul Cézanne himself would have submitted to the French Government when he was alive making it known that he created and registered this particular painting. The painting was completed on November 16th 1861.
Note the same painting was also exhibited in the next Roubaix Exposition Ancient et Modernes Arts Division Paris France which possibly could have been between 1862 and 1976. A registered file for this Cézanne painting would also be in this exhibition file. Seeking both copies.
I have already confirmed with staff at the National Museum Archives in Paris that files relating to this Paul Cézanne’s painting they hold on site. I will share the exact box and dossier numbers before your visit.
Your mission is to:
• Locate and obtain a certified copy of the original registration file Paul Cézanne submitted to the French government.
• Locate the companion exhibition file from the Roubaix “Exposition Ancien et Modernes – Arts Division,” staged sometime between 1862 and 1876.
Both sets of documents must be reproduced as high-resolution digital scans—colour, 300 dpi or better, page-by-page, including covers, separators or handwritten notes. Obtain certified copies before scanning, and the physical certified copies sent to me in the mail.
Please follow archive rules for handling and reproduction, pay any on-the-spot fees, and organise a return appointment if retrieval delays occur.
