I am looking for an experienced journalist to do an in-depth investigative report on a specific subject. The journalist should have substantial experience in research and writing. Evidence of publication in highly visible outlets is required. The journalist should be versed in conducting interviews and making public records requests. The project timeline is estimated to be be around a month.
The project consists of first interviewing some advocates. Second — if possible — collect public records. I am unsure they are available. Third, identify ways to interview some people affected by an unjust policy.
Finally write it all up.
I would like for the story to have maximum possible visibility. So in your application please explain what would be your strategy to do so. Note that this is not a controversial issues and it cuts through party lines. This is very much a niche subject. But a well written and compelling column could be of interest to major written media outlets.
