Vintage-Style Family History Textbook

Job ID: 40480964

Budget: $250 – $750 USD

I’m putting together a “school-textbook” style volume that tells my family’s story through the historical events that influenced each generation. I want it to feel like something you’d pull from an old classroom shelf—complete with chapter headings, sidebars and period-appropriate illustrations—yet written in an engaging, narrative tone rather than dry academia.

Scope of work
• Research and curate the key historical events that frame the family’s journey (no need for genealogy charts or anecdotal digressions—pure history contextualised to the family is the focus).
• Draft compelling, story-driven chapters that weave those events into a cohesive timeline.
• Source or suggest royalty-free images, maps or diagrams that echo mid-century textbook design.
• Lay out the material in a clean, print-ready format (InDesign or similar), leaving space for future photo inserts.
• Provide the final manuscript as both an editable file and a high-resolution PDF ready for printing.

Acceptance criteria
– Chapters read fluidly, with clear historical accuracy and narrative flow.
– Design mimics classic textbook aesthetics while remaining easy to update.
– All images are properly cited and free for personal print use.

If this blend of history research, storytelling and vintage design excites you, let’s bring this family textbook to life.
