Designing an interview schedule/questionnaire to collect data on any urban concern-
1. Identifying a concern relevant to Urban
2. Drawing a set of objectives for the survey to design the tool
3. Inclusion and exclusion criteria for selection of respondents
4. Items grouped into sections / domains
5. Including items that collects data in different formats - continuous, ordinal, nominal measures
6. Open-ended and close-ended items
7. Remarks for skip and probes.
8. Data at various levels. E.g individual, household
9. Community / Settlement level data
10. Meta data (Operational definitions for key variables, data on the location where respondents are
identified from, etc)
11. Giving a proper structure to the tool
12. Proper phrasing of individual items
