The Institute of Malaysian and International Studies (IKMAS), established on 1 April 1995, is a centre for research in the social sciences within Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). The Institute uses a multidisciplinary perspective to conduct research, graduate teaching and other academic activities. IKMAS is composed of scholars from different disciplines (especially economics, sociology, political science, law and literature) committed to Malaysian and international studies within the framework of interregional, connectivity and inclusive development.

Research objectives
• Conduct basic, applied and strategic research, including policy inputs of benefit to society;
• Promote collaborative research and dialogue at the national and global levels;
• Contribute to the discourse on globalization, Westernism and social transformation from a developing country perspective;

The Centre for Asian Studies of IKMAS was originally established on 1 April 1995 to provide a focal point for the Institute of Malaysian and International Studies in the field of Malaysian, Southeast and East Asian studies. The Centre has a long history and a reputation both locally and internationally, particularly in the field of Malaysian and Southeast Asian studies.
The Center conducts research on regional geopolitics, international trade, and regionalism in Asia. The Centre plays an important role as an interdisciplinary unit, bringing together researchers and graduate students from across the University, encouraging group research and publication. Regular seminars are held to broaden the intellectual horizons of fellows and students through exposure to other disciplines, methods and ideas.
At present, the South Asia Project team of the Center is actively recruiting personnel with strong knowledge accumulation of South Asian relations, geopolitics and international relations/political economy, research or work experience in related fields, strong initiative and initiative, and able to work independently. Recruitment Positions and Requirements
The position: part-time South Asia Relations researcher, regardless of nationality, gender or age.

The requirements:
• Rich political and economic related professional knowledge and research and analysis ability.
• Participated in research or work in related fields, able to quickly adapt to work.
• Strong sense of teamwork, good at communication and coordination.
• In good physical condition.

Main responsibilities
• Assisted in carrying out short-term or long-term research projects online or offline, actively proposed research topics, collected relevant research data, and formed research results.
• Actively follow and understand hot news about the current political and economic situation in South Asia.
• Participate in various seminars, carry out academic exchanges and discussions, and form research articles according to the research results.

Work location
Online or Malaysia.

Recruitment nationality
People from South Asian countries such as India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, and the Maldives, as well as people from other countries who have conducted research on South Asian relations.

Wage plan
The salary will be determined according to the ability of each applicant.
