Outreach Specialist (Backlinks / Partnerships) — Student & Greek Life Niche (Remote, $20 per Qualified Lead)

Pay: $20 per qualified lead secured (details below)

About the role
We’re hiring a freelancer to help us secure high-quality, relevant backlink opportunities and partnership placements for a custom merch company. This is not spammy link building. We care about relevance and real audiences.

Your job is to research the right contacts, run personalized outreach, follow up, and secure qualified leads (warm intros/active conversations with decision-makers) that can turn into placements.

What counts as a “Qualified Lead”

A lead is qualified when you deliver ALL of the following:
1.) Decision-maker contact (editor / partnerships / webmaster / sponsorship lead) with name + role + email (LinkedIn profile optional but preferred)
2.) Proof of outreach and response: the contact has replied positively and is open to one of these outcomes:
-Adding us to a resource page / vendor list / directory
-Publishing a guest contribution / editorial mention
-A campus media feature or sponsor/vendor listing
-Clear next step is established, such as:

They requested our blurb/assets, pricing, or details
They asked us to submit via a form you provide
They offered a call or asked scheduling availability
Logged cleanly in our tracker with screenshots/forwarded email proof

Not qualified (not paid):
No response / bounced emails
“Send info” with no indication they can do anything
Wrong person / generic inbox only (unless they reply and route you)
Irrelevant sites (mom blogs, random lifestyle sites, PBNs, link farms, coupon sites)

Responsibilities
Research + find the right person for each target site (name, role, email, LinkedIn)
Send personalized outreach (email + optional LinkedIn) using our templates and value-offer menu
Follow up on schedule until you get a yes/no
Secure qualified leads and hand them off with full context
Maintain an organized Google Sheet tracker (every touchpoint, dates, status)
Target types we care about (examples):
Greek life blogs / recruitment resources
College merch review or student life sites
University org directories / club resource pages
Campus newspapers / student magazines (often .edu or official org sites)
Relevant student-focused platforms/tools (partner/resource pages)

Quality standards (very important):
No spam blasts
No PBNs / link farms / irrelevant placements
No “DA/DR-only” chasing without relevance
Outreach must feel human, specific, and helpful

Tools
We’ll provide: target list (and you can suggest new targets), templates, value offers, tracker.
You should be comfortable with: Gmail, Google Sheets, basic web research.
Nice-to-have: Hunter/Apollo, LinkedIn outreach experience.
