OVERVIEW: As a Billing Agent, your primary responsibility will be to manage daily billing operations for clients, focusing on accurate claim submission, payment posting, and insurance follow-ups. Operating in a remote, independent contractor role, you will work closely with the Revenue Cycle Lead and other team members to ensure all aspects of the dental revenue cycle are handled efficiently. This role demands a strong understanding of the dental insurance billing process, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while meeting deadlines.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Claim Submission: Accurately and efficiently submit dental claims to insurance companies, ensuring that all information is correct and complete to avoid delays or denials.
Insurance Follow-Up: Proactively follow up on outstanding claims and work to resolve any denials or issues that may arise, ensuring timely payment and reducing aged accounts.

Aging Report Management: Regularly review aging reports to identify unpaid claims and accounts that require follow-up, addressing any outstanding issues to maintain a healthy revenue cycle.
Compliance: Ensure all billing activities comply with dental industry standards, HIPAA, and relevant regulations to protect patient information and uphold ethical billing practices.
Collaboration: Work closely with the Revenue Cycle Lead and other team members to communicate any issues, share updates, and align on overall revenue cycle goals.
Customer Support: Provide excellent service to clients by indirectly addressing any billing-related questions or concerns, offering timely and professional assistance.
Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of billing activities, payments, and communication with insurance companies, ensuring transparency and easy access to information when needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in dental billing, with a strong understanding of the full revenue cycle process, including claim submission, payment posting, and collections.
Proficiency in using dental billing software and practice management systems, with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new tools. Experience with Google Suite required.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, insurance companies, and internal team members.
Strong understanding of dental billing processes, coding, and compliance standards, including knowledge of industry regulations (e.g., HIPAA).
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve billing or claims issues effectively, including handling denials and aged claims.
Experience working remotely, with a track record of delivering results independently.
