A Management Report: based on a case study of the Intrepid Group’s Integrated Annual Report
Budget: £20 – £250 GBP
“Critically analyse the company’s purpose led approach to delivering long term benefits for all stakeholders and the strategies used to respond to a radically different global business, economic and travel environment.”.
The word count should not exceed 3,000 words.
The report should include the following sections:
1. Title page and table of contents
2. Executive Summary (10 marks)
3. Introduction to the company and rationale for selected approach, analysis and methodology used.
(5 marks)
4. Findings and analysis. (40marks)
5. Conclusions and company related recommendations (5 marks)
6. Recommendations for the visitor economy (10 marks)
7. Referencing and evidence of reading (20 marks)
Please note:
Section 4, Findings and analysis should analyse both the financial performance and overall health of the business with due consideration to the impact of and response to the pandemic.
Your analysis should refer to a variety of aspects, including at least:
• Key operating ratios (KPIs)
• Profitability, Liquidity and Risk (financial and non-financial)
• Shareholder expectations
• Engagement with United Nations Sustainable Development Goals
• The future sustainability of the organisation, in the broadest sense.
Section 6: Recommendations for the visitor economy
Based on your analysis of the Intrepid Group identify two key examples of innovative good practice. For each of the chosen examples briefly describe the good practice and provide a recommendation for dissemination to either a relevant business sector or to a specific business of your choice. You must both explain and justify the reasons for your selected recommendations.
Assessment Guidelines
1) The assignment will take the form of an individual written word-processed report of 3000 words (the usual +/10% rules on word count apply), excluding title page, contents page, intext references, tables, reference list and appendices.
2) In addition to the Intrepid Group annual report, this assessment will involve in-depth scholarly research of relevant peer-reviewed publications, industry market reports and newspapers/ trade publications.
3) Detailed guidance will be given within the three-day block, followed by discussion during the learning sets. Learning Set One and Three are designed to support the completion of this piece of coursework. Students will the opportunity to arrange one to one meetings with subject expert members of the module team.
4) This element of coursework accounts for 75% of the overall assessment. Students should refer to the marking criteria attached to provide them with fuller details of marking criteria for each classification band.
5) Completed assignments must be submitted via Turnitin by 3pm on Monday 28th March 2022.
