Global Sports Broadcast Research
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I'm looking for someone to create a simple web server with an API that returns information about TV channels and streaming services broadcasting football, hockey, and basketball matches in different countries — such as Germany, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Argentina, USA, and others.
Websites like livesoccertv.com show where each football match is broadcast, with breakdowns by country. For example, a match might be shown on Movistar in Spain, on ESPN+ in the USA, etc. However, many online sources do not provide full per-country data, so this project may involve manual or semi-automated research.
Your tasks will include: 1) Collecting broadcast data for sports matches (list of matches will be provided or sourced from public websites); 2) For each match, identifying the country, the broadcasting channel or platform (TV or streaming), and the local broadcast time if available; 3) Storing this data in a database (any lightweight option is fine); 4) Creating a simple REST API to return the data by match, country, sport, and date.
Requirements: The API should return results in JSON. The backend can be built in any stack (Node.js, Python, PHP — your choice). The system should allow future expansion to support more sports and countries. The data must be fresh (ideally updated manually or semi-manually a few days before matches). If no channel is found for a match in a country, that should be reflected in the data.
Nice to have: experience working with sports data, ability to scrape or extract data from websites like LiveSoccerTV, and familiarity with deploying lightweight APIs on servers or cloud platforms.
