We have seen a huge shift of criminality and reduction in crimes such as shoplifting (retailers being closed) toward a new pandemic, that of a huge rise in domestic abuse from my perspective in the Midlands of the United Kingdom. From the reduction in road traffic accidents to a huge rise in the snitch culture of reporting neighbours for breaches of Covid and government guidelines. I would also like sections of the backlash of the youth with the UK's 'illegal Raves' that were widespread across the country leading to enormous fines and young people turning out in their thousands to in an indirect protest. Difficulties and further hostilities that police officers faced on a daily basis that fuels the lack of respect for the UK police compared to for example their American counterparts.
The stress placed on the NHS from the polices perspective, as the growing mental health crisis only made worse by the pandemic as people were stuck in their homes, confounding and cause further strain to ambulance and NHS staff. I would like to finish with a speculative look on how the police may adapt and move forward post pandemic, and the new challenges they face with the current strains of society such as covid passports, riots in places like Australia may start to leak over the to the United Kingdom and how the 'Thin Blue Line' in the UK may react should they have to face similar scenes.
