Geopolitics Researchers Needed

I am expanding the Research Institute for Peace and Security’s Africa desk and need full-time analysts who already live in Africa, Brussels, or elsewhere in Belgium. Your core mission will be to track and interpret African geopolitics and diplomatic strategy, then turn those findings into clear, actionable intelligence for governments, NGOs, and private-sector clients that rely on our briefings.

Day-to-day, you will monitor open-source material, confidential feeds, and on-the-ground contacts, synthesising the data into weekly situation reports, flash alerts, and longer policy papers. The emphasis is firmly on:

• Political alliances
• International trade policies
• Diplomatic negotiations

I value concise writing, strong methodological rigour, and the ability to explain complex regional dynamics to non-experts. Fluency in English is essential; French, Arabic, Swahili, or Portuguese is a plus. Experience with tools such as Excel, Tableau, or GIS mapping software will help your candidacy stand out, but deep subject-matter knowledge always comes first.
