Data Collection and Research Specialist
Budget: ₹1,500 – ₹12,500 INR
We are seeking a professional or team with expertise in data collection, market research, or educational research to help us gather behavioural, demographic, and psychographic data from students in the UK. This data will be used to feed a machine learning model for our social networking app, which is designed to enhance student engagement by providing personalized recommendations based on user behavior, preferences, and background.
Project Scope:
The project will involve collecting data through a combination of surveys, publicly available datasets, and user research targeting students in the UK. The data should provide insights into students’ demographics, behavior, academic interests, socioeconomic background, and personality traits. Specifically, the data should cover:
1. Demographic Data:
• Nationality
• Ethnicity
• Regional background (UK regions and international students)
• Age group
• Educational level (undergraduate, postgraduate, etc.)
• Socioeconomic status
2. Behavioral Data:
• Social interaction preferences (group vs. solo activities)
• Study habits (group study, alone, etc.)
• Event participation (types of events attended)
• Communication preferences (chat, in-person, video calls)
3. Psychographic Data:
• Personality traits (introverted, extroverted, ambivert)
• Motivations (academic success, personal growth, social connections)
• Mental health and well-being (stress management, mental health challenges)
4. Location-based Insights:
• Data related to students’ movement patterns (campus, libraries, social venues, etc.)
• Location-based engagement and event attendance patterns
Deliverables:
• Survey Design: Create and distribute a survey targeting UK students to gather the required data.
• Data Collection: Collect and compile data from surveys, focus groups, or interviews.
• Analysis of Existing Public Data: Analyze publicly available datasets (e.g., HESA, ONS, NUS) to enrich the data collection.
• Final Dataset: Provide a cleaned, organized dataset in CSV or Excel format that includes demographic, behavioral, and psychographic data points.
*Need at least 500-1000 survey results.
Requirements:
• Proven experience in data collection or market research related to education, behavior, or psychographics.
• Ability to design and distribute surveys effectively to a student population in the UK.
• Strong analytical skills to process and compile data from multiple sources (surveys, public datasets, etc.).
• Familiarity with UK student demographics and behavior trends is preferred.
• Compliance with data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR).
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with educational research or behavioral analysis.
• Access to survey distribution channels or experience working with student unions or organizations.
• Experience working on data collection projects for machine learning models or recommendation systems is a plus.
