Abstract :

This work explores population growth trends and mortality proportions among people with non-communicable diseases in this context. Population, growth rate and estimates of non-communicable disease deaths from 1980 to 2024 have been extracted from the World Bank and World Health Organization statistical databases. After employing the linear regression for imputing missing values in the exploratory data analysis, the correlation analysis and the statistical tests showed a direct relationship between population and non-communicable disease deaths and an inverse relationship between growth rate and non-communicable disease deaths. Regression analysis supported this conclusion, revealing that the test carried a predictive capability of 0.998 when measured by the R-squared value, which increases the evidence for the direct link between the dynamics of population growth and non-communicable disease deaths. The results underscore the significance of understanding population growth trends toward formulating the right public health policies and interventions for the non-communicable disease burden. The combination of methods used in this study consequently offers essential recommendations to researchers, government, and other professionals involved in combating the effects of demographic characteristics cross-tabulated with non-communicable disease mortality.
