Abstract :
The relationship between religiosity and academic hardiness of students can determine the importance of religiosity at university level and assist the authorities to avoid a gap between the scientific and spiritual aspect of the university. The purpose of this study was to determine the relation of religiosity on academic hardiness in UII Chemical Engineering students. The hypothesis proposed that religiosity has positive and significant effect to academic hardiness. This research used quantitative research methods by distributing questionnaires via Google Form to 110 college students (50 males and 60 females) from Chemical Engineering program in Islamic University of Indonesia (UII) used simple random sampling method. The instruments used were the Abrahamic religiosity scale and How Kardy are You. Data were analyzed using regression linear test and hypothesis test, the result hypothesis was accepted (α = 0,005 and sig t = 0,04). Religiosity give something important for students to facing academic challenges. Better religiosity, better academic hardiness. Therefore, attention has to be paid to strengthen the religiosity of students at Islamic University of Indonesia because religiosity is a positive character of human being with positive impact to academic hardiness. The limited of data and time are the main limitations of this study. In this paper, we focus on academic hardiness as update from previous research.
