The report should be adequate to inform the next consultant of the problem, how you approached it, how you arrived at your final recommendations. Also, prepare a one-page Executive Summary to provide a brief information base that will be useful in arriving at a decision. Recognizing that the decision maker has the final responsibility for the decision, include recommendations for action based on the results of the analysis. The Executive Summary must be able to stand alone. A possible final report structure includes Title Page, Executive Summary, Scenario (description of the decision-making environment and factors bearing on the managerial situation), Problem, Model, Solution to the Model, Recommended Solution(s), References (if possible), and Appendices. Appendices are recommended for detailed analyses, computer output, and data. Other structures are acceptable provided that the essential information is included.
