In this part of the assignment, you will complete a leadership development plan. This will allow you to develop an evidence-based strategy for becoming a more effective leader, and demonstrate your ability to integrate theory and practice.

You will need to select three elements of leadership where you feel that you need to develop your skills, knowledge or behaviors. You can choose any area you wish. Possible ideas may be (but are not limited to):

Communication
Emotional intelligence
Decision-making
Delegation
Strategic thinking
Motivating others
Problem-solving
For each of your three elements, you should:

Identify why it is an important precursor of effective leadership in healthcare and more widely
Summarise your own strengths and weaknesses in relation to this element of leadership
Outline the goals you want to achieve in relation to this element of leadership, the steps you will take to achieve them, and way in which you will evaluate progress
Explore the barriers to developing each element and how these can be overcome
Integrate research, evidence and established theory into your discussion
The discussion of each element should be approximately 700-800 words in length (the total assignment has a maximum word length of 2500 words)
