case study
Budget: $30 – $250 AUD
Based on the case study for video pitch (see PDF), a group of councils led by Oxford City Council partnered with Torchbox to conduct a research project into chatbots and conversational AI in early 2019. The primary objective was to explore opportunities of using such technologies to better serve customers and to reduce costs faced by councils in provisioning particular services.
"Can chatbots and AI help solve service design problems?"
Corporate investors want to know more about Oxford City Council's strength in technological innovation and related strategy to lead the group of councils in improving the quality of their services. Moreover, before adopting chatbot technology to its customers, Oxford City Council needs to develop some best practices for the use of chatbots for the participating councils' service provisioning, and understand AI capabilities and the latest chatbot technologies (notwithstanding the case study was written in 2019, you may want to consider the latest technologies, such as ChatGPT).
With the role of Oxford City Council business consultant, students are required to make a five (5) minute video pitch (presentation) to corporate investors at the participating councils about implementing chatbots for improving quality of customer services. Please ensure that your face is visible in the presentation.
The tasks can be broken down into 3 sections:
Brief introduction to the industry and organisation to motivate adoption of chatbots in the councils.
Identify key strength of Oxford City Council's technological innovation (to lead and navigate the process). including the value of the partnership with Torchbox.
Analyse the timing of entry for the participating councils and recommend strategic direction and best practices for the use of chatbots.
