Report Writing, Length & Formatting Requirements The paper must be a MINIMUM of 12 double-spaced pages. This does NOT include title, reference, appendix or works cited pages. There is NO penalty for going over the minimum page count requirement (in fact, it is encouraged). Graphics, charts, tables and other supplementary elements may be included but must be labeled and referenced accordingly, and must not comprise more than 2 pages of the overall report body. Such content that does not provide meaningful value to the paper and serves only as "filler" will result in deducted points. The font size should be NO larger than 12 point, preferably Times New Roman. The margins should be NO larger than 1 inch. These elements will be verified by the professor as part of grading. The paper must include a MINIMUM of 10 cited sources. More than 10 is allowed and encouraged. The sources MUST be academic, scholarly, industry whitepaper or published research material. Blogs, magazines and websites may be used as part of your personal research, but do not count toward the 10 required scholarly sources. Utilize the EMU library research resources to find appropriate source material (https://www.emich.edu/library/). Research assistance is provided by library personnel if you aren't experienced in the process.
