Visual Influence on Speech Perception Study -- 2
Budget: $50 – $0 USD
I'm conducting a research project exploring how visual information, specifically lip movements and facial expressions, influence speech perception. The study aims to shed light on this intriguing aspect of human communication.
For this study, I'm looking for participants from the general public, as the findings should be representative of everyday interactions. In particular, it'd be ideal if the freelancers here have:
- Experience in research design and data collection.
- A background in psychology or communication sciences is highly beneficial.
- Knowledge of or experience with the McGurk effect is a plus.
- Skills in conducting online surveys and data analysis.
The main objectives of the study are as follows:
- Understand how lip movements impact the perception of speech.
- Examine the influence of facial expressions on understanding speech.
- Compare and contrast these visual cues' roles in interpreting spoken language.
The findings from this research will contribute to our understanding of how visual signals guide, influence, or potentially mislead, auditory perception of speech. Your role as a freelancer could be crucial in helping achieve this goal.
