The Ouroboros Schism

This is a research project on the comparison of the Chinese Dragon vs the Western Dragon. The focus lies in how societies utilize each respected dragon via symbolism. Moreover, the project has shifted the comparative narrative toward, the influence, importance, and positive connotation of the Chinese Dragon. In contrast, the Western Dragon is notably associated with negative connotations or in other words the yin to the yang of the Chinese Dragon. Ultimately, I want the paper to reflect a sort of chronology of both dragons' induction into society, then the shift from a spiritual to a moral standpoint, and lastly the paper should include if not address the trend or pattern of each dragon's symbolism in their respected society which is then compared to each other for an analysis of how each culture incorporated the dragon into their societal norms.
